Aged 16 Peter bought a 10 year old Honda Express moped, secured his CBT and took to the roads riding to and from the Saturday job plus visiting family and friends. A year later the Express gave way to a Honda CG and he passed his motorcycle driving test on the second attempt. Suddenly the Honda was too slow and along came a late secondhand Kawasaki EL , which served on the daily commute to his job as a chef in a nearby hotel. Buying a part rebuilt Kreidler Florett 50cc from the estate of the late Brian Woolley fired his restoration bug. Later scrimping and saving enabled him to acquire a handful of other machines including a sporting BSA single, the Norton 16H and a veteran Campion in varying states of dismantle, and in the case of the Norton riddled with rust. Initially dealing in parts for any older machines and the occasional cheap project, after a few years he decided to restrict his business interests to pre machines with a focus on all pre WWII motorcycles.

The club is run for the mutual benefit of all its members, all our committee members and officers are unpaid volunteers and we do not seek to make a profit. We also try to be as open and inclusive as we can: Our policies, minutes and accounts are available for all to see. We welcome non-members at our events. We are happy to give help and advice to non-members.
We hope that this makes us a club that people join because they want to be part of it, not one that people feel they have to join in order to obtain a particular service … so far, it seems to be working … Latest News Wanted: We are, therefore, looking for a new editor. As usua;, we had a hige variety of bikes on our stand, many of them rare beasts, but this year we were trying out a new layout for the stand. Services and support items Support items I support owners and people interested in the New Hudson range of motor cycles as much as possible. In this role, I am able to offer the following services: Accurate dating of any New Hudson Model no charge Photocopied information on nearly all models at cost. This includes catalogues, parts books, owners handbooks, etc. Advice on repair and restoration, colour schemes etc. Patterns are available for New Hudson footboards, and leg shields, and drawings of some other parts.
Spare parts for New Hudsons are often very difficult to find so a small list of items is kept which owners on the register may wish to sell or exchange.

Intelligibility has been dramatically improved, and their low profile design integrated nicely with the building’s architecture. It is difficult to imagine how a conventional loudspeaker could have delivered this type of performance. Flight announcements are clear, and passengers have the assurance that they can understand the message despite the background noise.

Here’s a gadget that all bikers ought to have. We haven’t tested it yet , and the press release didn’t specify if it’s new. But what the hell? It’s worth a second airing even if it’s been around the block. This device is 91mm long, and weighs 85 grams and is waterproof to 20 metres. So if you accidentally ride your bike into the canal, your loved ones will be sure to catch your last gasps. We’ve got a helmet cam of our own and use it all the time, and we recommend them, in principle.
But not all helmet cams are very convenient. This one looks better than most and captures high definition video at x pixels, and that’s about as good as it gets with available technology. It records, we’re told. But it will also operate at 60 frames per second fps at a lower resolution of x pixels.
